Observation medicine success relies heavily on strong leadership, strict treatment protocols, and well-defined criteria.  IEP has led the development of Clinical Decision Units at  three of our hospital sites providing observation medicine services to 10,000 patients annually.

Align Hospital and Quality Metrics

Our observation medicine services coordinate hospital quality, length of stay, re-admit and capacity management initiatives with the goal of improving quality of care and patient outcomes. Our CDUs have also improved ED flow efficiency and increased inpatient unit capacity by effectively managing medical problems of patients who may require a short stay of less than 24 hours.  Our units range in size from 12 to 32 beds.
